Carnivorous Plant Food - Fish Food Powder
Made of high quality, hand-ground fish food, this powder can be used to feed Sundews, and Dewy Pines.
For small sundews like Pygmy Sundews or seedlings, apply a small amount of dry powder to the dewy tentacles (using a wet toothpick is a good way to apply the dry powder, but pour out a small amount of powder first so no moisture gets into the bag).
For very large sundews and Dewy Pines, it might be easier to mix the powder with distilled water into a soupy mix and apply to the leaves with a pipette. However, this must be done carefully as to not overfeed and burn the leaves. It is safer to use the dry powder.
Try to avoid getting the food on the soil as this can promote mold growth, however it can also attracts springtails which are a tiny beneficial soil bug that only feeds on fungus and decaying matter. Springtails are an excellent natural food source for sundew seedlings and help prevent mold on soil.
This bag will last for at least 1-2 years of feeding several hungry plants every 2-4 weeks. It only takes a small amount of food to keep your plants growing vigorously.
Images 2+3 show before and after feed a Drosera auriculata leaf. Images 4+5 show before and after feeding a pygmy sundew. Dewy tentacles will strongly react to food, especially in pygmy sundews which only take about 1-2 minutes to fully curl the tentacles.
Read instructions for how to prepare the food and feed the plants. Different species require lighter or heavier feeding.
